The Talent Systems marketing team is based in Los Angeles and extends to New York, UK, Australia and Asia. The team delivers creative, innovative and growth-focused marketing campaigns, content and solutions for multiple brands around the world.

Job Purpose: We seek an Email Marketing Manager to lead our B2B and B2C email strategy, focusing on life-cycle management to boost member engagement, retention, and upselling. Your role is pivotal in creating targeted content and campaigns, executing with precision, and using data to drive results. You'll also develop a pre-member acquisition plan through engaging newsletters and offers. Your expertise will be key in advancing our email efforts, enhancing customer loyalty, and growing revenue in our fast-paced tech entertainment environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create new automations using high-level coding (HTML 5, Liquid, CSS), within our marketing platform, which will broadcast across multiple channels.
  • Conceptualize, graphically design, copy edit, set-up, and deploy email marketing campaigns in our marketing automation platform.
  • Build, monitor, analyse and optimise data-driven automated emails, targeting customers based on attributes such as location, profile details, and onsite behaviours.
  • Produce comprehensive weekly, monthly, and annual reports for all email campaigns and customer segments, using native reporting tools in our marketing automation platform, e-commerce platform, Google Analytics, etc.
  • Develop dashboards to analyse email engagement rates and identify opportunities to drive conversions and improve customer engagement.
  • Create and manage a life-cycle marketing programme tailored to member behaviour and milestones.
  • Design and implement a pre-member acquisition email strategy using newsletters and promotional offers to attract new users.
  • Segment email lists and personalise email campaigns for maximum relevance and impact.
  • Stay abreast of the latest email marketing trends and best practices, including GDPR compliance and other relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Customer Success, New Business, and Support, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach.
  • Test and refine email marketing tactics continuously through A/B testing, user feedback, and engagement metrics to improve overall effectiveness.
  • Manage the email marketing calendar, coordinating with broader marketing initiatives to ensure timely and relevant campaign delivery.
  • Develop segmentation strategies to identify high-value customer segments for targeted upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Work closely with the tech team to integrate marketing automation tools (Braze) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems (Recurly) for more efficient workflows.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team innovation, staying informed about industry developments, and implementing new technologies or methodologies to enhance the email program's performance.

Qualifications & Attributes:

  • 4-6 years of proven experience in B2B or B2C SaaS marketing, with a strong emphasis on email marketing strategy and execution.
  • Solid understanding of email marketing concepts and best practices, metrics, email deliverability, and rendering across devices/email clients along with experience in lifecycle and retention marketing.
  • Proficiency in using email service providers (ESPs) and marketing automation tools (e.g., Braze, Mailchimp, Marketo, HubSpot) with extensive experience of developing automated programmes.
  • Proficiency with HTML, basic email coding, and data integrations such as APIs and webhooks.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with strong copywriting skills and an eye for good design.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate end-to-end customer experiences and campaign effectiveness using metrics and KPIs.
  • Knowledge of data protection and privacy laws relevant to email marketing, such as GDPR.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, demonstrating strong communication and project management skills.
  • A blend of creativity and strategic thinking, with the agility to test, learn, and adapt strategies in a fast-paced industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
